Copy editing course £394.50

Student testimonials

Nick Collins

I enrolled on the course to develop the skills I need to become a copy editor, and to achieve a copy editing qualification. The course met my expectations.

The tutorial support was unfailingly prompt and helpful. The assignment feedback in particular was excellent.

On the whole, the content was extremely good and I learned the skills and knowledge needed to edit various types of document, and the legal issues surrounding published text. I also learned about freelancing, how to find and arrange work, and about the inner workings of the journalism, advertising and publishing industries.

The course was superb, and I am glad I enrolled.

ELITA FRID

I enrolled on the course I wanted to brush up on my editing skills and also wanted to have an accreditation to add to my CV.

Did the course meet my expectations? Absolutely!

The tutorial support was very good – I was impressed with the turnaround time. Questions were always answered within a day.

The course content was very thorough. I was surprised at how much it covered, actually. I wasn’t expecting so much content. Not only did I brush up on my skills, I learned a lot of new things – things I didn’t even think related to copy-editing.

For anyone that has other obligations and is unable to devote all their time to a full-time course, this is definitely the way to go!

Well, where to start?  There are so many aspects to the course that I found interesting, thought-provoking and inspiring that I am not sure which to share with you.

If I am honest, looking back, probably the most influential were the modules on writing in plain, simple, fluent English and writing for your reader.

This was quite a revelation to me as it is not what I was expecting to say!

I did, in fact, go into the course thinking that the proofreading skill would be the most important and, whilst I may use that in future, in my everyday work I have taken much more from the course than I expected.

I read everything with a more open mind now and frequently ask 'What is the writer trying to say and do they achieve it?'

So, writing this paragraph has whetted my appetite for more and perhaps I will think, now, what I want to do next.
