This course is for anyone who wants to improve their proofreading skills for work and study.

It will  improve your English, your punctuation and your spelling - key fundamentals for any job these days.

In a competitive jobs market, the accredited CTJT diploma in proofreading will give you the edge.

Employers will welcome someone who has mastered basic English, who can work accurately - and who can check other people's work, too.

This course is available online - or in print, sent to you by post. It's up to you.

Proofreading course entry requirements

The course is for anyone who wants to improve their proofreading skills. It is for novices.

You will need plenty of commitment and enthusiasm and good self discipline. But you will find the course stimulating and enjoyable.


 

Proofreading course duration and hours

The course usually takes around one month. Distance learning means you can work at your own pace and fit your studies around your lifestyle.

You can do extra work when it's quiet, and cut back if you're busy. And you can take time out if you need to.

Equipment

If you do the course by post, you will only need pens, a pencil, a dictionary and a ruler.

For our e-course, you'll also need:

  • access to a computer with an internet connection
  • Microsoft Word software, or equivalent
  • an email account


Proofreading course qualification

The course leads to the CTJT diploma, which is fully accredited and recognised in the UK and abroad.

You will have to complete a practical task at the end of the course to qualify.

When you have finished

You will have the skills to start proofreading all kinds of copy.
