Our newspaper journalism course will give you the skills and qualification you need for a career in the fast and exciting world of multi-media newspaper journalism.

Our ex-students have found work on local and regional papers and websites across the UK.  You remain enrolled until you have found a media job.

The tutor

The diploma is led by Cleland Thom, one of the UK´s leading media trainers. He is a member of the Society of Editors and the Chartered Institute of Journalists' Professional Practice Board.

He led an accredited NCTJ course for 10 years, and has been coaching students for their NCTJ exams by distance learning since 2003.

He has:

  • consistently achieved 100 per cent NCTJ exam pass rates over the past 15 years
  • taken part in NCTJ accreditation panels
  • worked at three NCTJ-accredited training centres
  • taught all NCTJ exam subjects

The course is for anyone who is serious about journalism, especially if:

We look at every application individually. You may have A levels or a degree. But you must have commitment and good written English.



Sports journalism course duration and hours

The course takes 6 months - 2 years. Distance learning means you can work at your own pace and fit your studies around your job and your lifestyle.

Tutor support

You can chat, live, to a tutor using Skype, or you can e-mail them. You will usually hear back straight away.

Equipment

You'll need:
