CTJT has teamed up with a leading national news agency so that its online journalism course students can sell their work more easily.
The partnership with Cascade News means students' best stories and photos can be syndicated worldwide.
Cascade, based in Manchester, UK, supply news, photos and features to national papers and magazines every day.
CTJT director Cleland Thom said: 'This partnership means our students will be able to get their work published more easily - provided it is good enough!
'They will also benefit financially, too, for anything sold.'
Cascade News chief John Jeffay added: 'It's great to be working with CTJT. I know their students often get great exclusives, and we'll be able to get them the exposure they deserve.'
About Cascade News
Cascade News syndicates words and pictures for regional newspapers.
We make the most of your news content by selling it on to national papers, magazines, foreign publications, TV stations, websites and beyond.
How they operate
We liaise regularly with news and picture desks, decide what we can sell . . . . and sell it.
The process requires minimal input from you. We take care of sales, queries, invoicing, chase-ups and headaches.
We provide a monthly breakdown of all sales and a BACS transfer direct to you.
There is no risk and no outlay. We work on agreed split - an incentive for us to provide the best possible service.
Does it work?
Yes. National newspapers pay to run your Tuesday splash as their Wednesday story. We deal directly with their London newsdesks and their regional correspondents.
We also specialise in selling real life stories to women’s magazines - very competitive, potentially very lucrative.
About John Jeffay

John is a highly experienced journalist. He ran the syndication team at the Manchester Evening News, selling news content for them and their weekly titles. Before that he was the MEN picture editor.
