NCTJ Sports journalism diploma course student at BBC Wales Sport

NCTJ Sports journalism diploma course student Chris Carra spent another two days on work experience with BBC Wales Sport in Cardiff after completing four days with them back in May this year.

Chris tells us: "This time around I spent more time with the television side of things, and shadowed producers of Scrum V (rugby show) as they went from visual to sound editing rooms preparing for a special Rugby World Cup show being recorded that evening.

"I then watched the 'stat man' record his pre-recorded sections for the show, before I was asked to be a marker on the Scrum V sofa. This allowed me to sit on the set while the cameras were tested on me, and I was briefly interviewed by Jason Mohammed about the Wales v Fiji game to test the sound on the microphones. I didn't actually watch the game, but managed to bluff my way through!"
