How Natasha hit the big time with Beyonce

Music journalism course student Natasha Ferguson has explained how her blog was selected by music giant RCA to promote Beyonce's new album.

She said: 'Another morning had come and I was checking e-mails, messages and Twitter for the latest news.

'In my time-line, I saw that RCA Label Group UK was asking all Beyonce fans for help so I retweeted, adding my blog address with curiosity.

'About an hour later they messaged me and this was followed by an email asking me if I had the time to help them support and promote Beyonce up until her album release and Glastonbury performance.

'Screaming with excitement and happiness, I got focused on the work ahead.

'Via my social sites I began promoting key asset links that were sent through as and when they were received by her PR.

'This included The Facebook profile Takeover / Beyonce Countdown - where she released a new image, quote and track every day and links to pre-order over at Itunes.

'As her performances were gearing up Maddy, the PR, also asked if I could promote giveaway competitions throughout her Glastonbury show as the first female ever to headline. Of course I obliged.

'Just knowing that they had taken time to look at my website, where I blog about entertainment made me really proud of taking Adam Adshead's advice of starting a blog a year ago. Adam's the best music journalism tutor in the world!

'I've learnt so much through this experience. Not only has it bought me so many new skills, but my determination and motivation is now on overdrive.

'Knowing that I was doing something I loved for an artist I enjoyed made me go in 110% which made it overall a really enjoyable opportunity!

'So I would say don't live for your career -  live life and have a career in it. You never know...'
