Nicola secures a journalism job in Australia

CTJT student Nicola Kalmar has clinched a job as a cadet reporter on a community newspaper in Western Australia.

Nicola has been taken on as a third year cadet on the Broome Advertiser, which covers Broome, a small town where the 'bush meets the sea'.

Nicola secured the position after studying the CTJT shorthand e-course

She starts next week and said: 'Ican't believe I finally have my foot in the door! I continue to enjoy learning shorthand, and thank you again for your support.'

Nicola is the second CTJT student to get a job on a newspaper in Australia this year.

In February we reported how newspaper student Isobel Gibbins got a job on the Central Queensland News.

CTJT director Cleland Thom said: 'Our global reach is increasing all the time. It's so exciting to be able to help people from other countries pursue their journalism dreams.'
