Two CTJT journalism course students hit the big-time

CTJT director Cleland Thom today praised two students who went from novices to featuring in top national media during their courses.

Sports journalism course student Mark Smith previewed England's Under-21 football clash with the Czech Republic for BBC Radio 5 Live on Friday.

And  Freelance journalism course student John Welsh had an article published on Cycling News Asia, one of the world's biggest cycling websites, the same day.

Cleland said: 'Both these students started their courses as beginners, but have shown what can be done with determination.

'They have both worked hard to raise their profiles and have reaped the rewards by being recognised by two of the biggest players in the sports media market.

'I'm sure the best is yet to come for both of them.'
